A £500 donation to Cube Youth, who provide free sessions and support to around 80 young people in the Malvern area, has enabled them to throw a Christmas party and buy a gift for those who attended.
Platform made the donation as part of their Christmas Kindness Campaign, which will see the organisation donate over £35,000 to support more than 50 vital, local organisations like Cube Youth in the run-up to the festive season.
Marion Duffy, Platform’s Chief Operations Director said: “It’s great that we have been able to support the young people who attend the vitally important sessions that Cube Youth offer.
“When we talk about the cost of living crisis, the impact on young people and children often gets missed, so being able to provide this funding so that the youth group can get together and have some fun this Christmas is incredibly important.”
Based in the Malvern Cube, the club offer free weekly groups and activities in both term time and school holidays, along with one to one mentoring. A hot meal is available, along with a range of fun activities. They also offer dedicated girls’ and boys’ friendship and wellbeing sessions, plus a group for young members of the LGBTQ community.
Jo Hine, Youth Manager, Cube Youth said: “The kind donation from Platform Housing has enabled us to throw a Christmas Party and provide a present for each child, which was much appreciated by the recipients. The evening was a huge success, and the young people really enjoyed the buffet and games on offer.
“It was great to see so many young people aged 10-17 having fun. Thank you so much Platform for your support, it really enabled us to make a positive difference for young people within the Malvern community.
