You must be aged 60+ or 55+ if in receipt of PIP/DLA to apply for this property.

The town centre is approximately 350 metres and the amenities include local shops, post office, banks, chemists and churches. The local public house and doctors’ surgery are within easy walking distance.

Please note, applicants for upper-floor flats must be able to safely use stairs in the event of an emergency.

Please note that if you are claiming Housing Benefit or Housing Element of Universal Credit there are some service charges that would not be covered. These include a £6.54pcm admin charge, £3.60pcm personal alarm charge, and £40.02pcm personal heating charge. A Lettings Officer can give you a full break breakdown of the charges of what is eligible for Housing Benefits payments (our preferred ongoing method of payment is Direct Debit), Housing Benefit and Universal Credit is accepted.

Please note that from the 1st April 2025 there will be a rent change. If the tenancy starts before the 1st April, you will be charged at the 24/25 figure until 1st April where you will be subject to the 25/26 figure of £618.62pcm.

You will be required to pay one month’s rent in advance on the tenancy start day. Please note our preferred ongoing method of payment is via Direct Debit and we accept Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. 

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured lifetime tenancy.   

Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in, and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.    

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
