Platform Housing are delighted to offer unfurnished self-contained apartments ranging from studios to 2-bed apartments in a retirement living scheme in Matlock. On the doorstep of the Peak District National Park this town has a full range of amenities including a train station and good road communications lead to surrounding cities of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham.
To be eligible you must be aged 60+ or 55+ if you are in receipt of Personal Independence Payments or Disability Living Allowance.
Denefields Court has 50 self-contained apartments. The scheme is surrounded by communal grounds and facilities include a lift, laundry room, lounge and guest facilities. There is a non-resident management staff and a Careline alarm service.
There is a mixture of studio apartments with open plan living/sleeping, one bedroom apartments with a single bedroom and others with double bedrooms that may house a couple. Some apartments have baths and others have walk in showers.

You will be required to pay one month’s rent of between £594.64 to £788.29 depending upon the type of apartment; in advance prior to the tenancy start day. Please note that if you are claiming Housing Benefit or Housing Element of Universal Credit there are some service charges that would not be covered. These include charges towards the cost of administration, for personal heating, and a charge towards the cost of support ranging from £60.06pcm to £128.90pcm depending upon apartment. A lettings Officer can give you a full break breakdown of the charges of what is eligible for Housing Benefits payments.
If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured lifetime tenancy.
Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy.
If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
