Positive Change Award Winner 2024
Meet the Positive Change Award Winner for 2024, Pat McKeever
Pat McKeever, a resident at Hazeland Court, embodies resilience and compassion. Despite living with a challenging health condition that leaves her breathless, Pat channels her energy into uplifting her neighbors and transforming their lives through community-building. She has created a supportive environment where residents connect over daily coffee mornings, weekly games nights, and holiday gatherings that foster a strong sense of belonging. During Christmas, she prepared holiday meals for those who would have otherwise been alone, and her efforts go well beyond celebrations—Pat often assists residents with managing benefits, organising bills, and addressing their needs, ensuring they feel cared for and included.
One resident, who once felt isolated and struggled to connect with others, now actively participates in events thanks to Pat’s gentle guidance. Pat’s journey from a dedicated carer to a community leader at Hazeland Court speaks to the heart of this award: overcoming personal challenges to make a difference in the lives of others.
