Start your journey to a career in technology and help develop a better experience for our customers. The Digital Futures Academy provides a chance to explore various roles within our technology department, acquire new skills, and complete an apprenticeship.

This apprenticeship programme is designed for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, starting from the age of 16. There's no upper age limit, so whether you're just starting out or looking for a career change, we welcome you!
Stage One
Spend your first year learning about a digital career in housing - our programme offers rotations in multiple areas of the Technology department, including IT Support, Software Development, Cyber Security, Data Analysis, Infrastructure and Networks, Project Management, Digital Transformation, and Business Systems. This broad exposure will help you find your passion and specialise in your chosen field.
Stage Two
After your first year, you'll have the opportunity to choose your pathway and build your skills in your chosen field via an apprenticeship qualification. Depending on your chosen route, the apprenticeship may take up to 4 years to complete and you may need to attend college or university. Some learning will be delivered virtually, while other components may require face-to-face attendance.

We offer a competitive salary of £21,915 in your first year.
In your working week, you will spend three days a week in our office, gaining hands-on experience across various teams and two days working from home with all necessary IT equipment provided.
As you progress, your work location will depend on your team, with opportunities to work from home, based on your role.
Spend your first year engaged in our housing business, learning about how we operate and experience various roles within our Technology Directorate including:
- IT Support
- Software Development
- Cyber Security
- Data Analysis
- Infrastructure and Networks
- Project Management
- Digital Transformation
- Business Systems
This broad exposure will help you find your passion and specialise in your chosen field.
While we can't guarantee a permanent job after the apprenticeship, we are committed to supporting you in finding suitable roles upon completion. You'll have a dedicated manager/mentor with the relevant knowledge and experience to guide you throughout your journey.

- Open to all academic levels, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- 28 days of annual leave.
