Wellbeing Fund support vital mental health services in Droitwich

We have provided much needed funds to a hub that provides essential mental health and wellbeing services.
We donated £20,000 to the Droitwich Wellbeing Hub; the award was made possible through our Wellbeing Fund. Launched in 2021 and initially set up to help people with essential needs such as food, energy and household appliances, the Wellbeing Fund has grown to include special projects funding, aimed at community based initiatives that provide lasting impact, including the Droitwich Wellbeing Hub.
The hub is a not for profit community interest company based in an area with a high population of our customers. It offers vital mental health and wellbeing services, including counselling and wellbeing support, helping people overcome barriers and move forward in difficult times.
The funding has enabled the hub to hire additional staff and secure further funding to sustain and grow its services.
Marion Duffy, our Chief Operations Officer said: “We know that the ongoing cost of living rises continue to have an impact on our customers across our communities. That’s why our Wellbeing Fund is so important; it allows us to respond directly to what people needs, whether that’s essential items like a cooker, energy and food vouchers, or access to vital mental health services like those offered by the Droitwich Wellbeing Hub.
“We’re incredibly proud to support community partners who share our commitment to helping people feel safe, supported and connected.”
Pip Cavilla, Co-founder and Therapeutic Counsellor at the Droitwich Wellbeing Hub said: “Our partnership with Platform has been incredible; this funding has already made a huge difference to the way we support local people. It’s helped us expand our reach and meet the increasing demand for mental health support.”
Our customers Leanne and Gemma – who have both used the counselling services and now volunteer at the hub – said: “It feels like Platform really cares about the community; it’s not just about being a tenant anymore.”
In response to the ongoing cost of living crisis and the lasting impact of the Covid pandemic, our Wellbeing Fund continues to provide meaningful, life changing support to customers and communities across the region. Supporting both individuals and community groups, it continues to provide a safety net where other funding has been withdrawn, offering practical, timely help when it’s needed most.
