Our sponsorship of a community event in Worcester

We took part in an event that showcased local communities at their very best earlier this month. 

We were part of The Worcester Show, an event that aims to celebrate the city at its best. 

For the first time, we sponsored the Community Marquee which featured a wide variety of groups including a Ukrainian cultural corner, Worcester Anti-Racism Initiative, Worcestershire Pilipino Association, Worcestershire Black Cultural Association and a Bulgarian arts corner.  

Tom Piotrowski, our Diversity and Inclusion Manager said: “Following a period of serious public violence and outbursts of deplorable racism across the country, The Worcester Show proved to be a triumph of community spirit that is rich in acceptance, inclusion of all cultures and traditions in the city.  It was fantastic to be part of that communal celebration of diversity.  We connected with our partners and made new ones, all with the aim of benefiting our customers and communities where we provide our services.  It was a delight to play a part by sponsoring this year’s Community Marquee; we look forward to next year’s event.”  

This year’s event – its fourth consecutive one – welcomed around 20,000 visitors to the venue at Worcester Racecourse and included fun family activities, food from all over the world and music on several stages.  

Tom concluded : “The Worcester Show offered us a fabulous opportunity to talk to our customers as well as those who wanted to learn more about us as a significant employer in the area. We also shared information about our Diversity Grants which are available to community groups and organisations interested in developing projects celebrating diversity and strengthening cohesion in local communities.”
