Platform Housing Group manages a retirement living scheme at Knight Court just off Sebright Road in the village Woverley approximately 2 miles north of the large market town of Kidderminster.

To be eligible you need to be aged 60 + or aged 55 + if you are in receipt of Personal Independence Payments or Disability Living Allowance.

Knight Court has 28, one bedroom apartments suitable for single applicants or couples. There is non-resident management staff and 24 hour Careline alarm service.   There is a lift to get to the upper floors, dining room, communal lounge, laundry room, guest facilities and a salon for a visiting hairdresser.  Residents can use these communal facilities and enjoy the beautiful gardens.   

Woverley is surrounded by beautiful Worcestershire countryside ideal for walking, cycling and horse riding, with easy access to the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal, Kingsford Forest Park, the National Trust owned Kinver Edge and Bodenham Arboretum.

You will be required to pay one month’s rent in advance prior to signing for the property. This depends on the type of apartment and ranges from £605.11-£671.11pcm. Please note that if you are claiming Housing Benefit or Housing Element of Universal Credit there are some service charges that are included in the monthly rent total would not be covered. These are £13.51pcm for personal water and a £7.79pcm charge towards the cost of support. Rents and service charges are subject to change. A lettings Officer can give you a full break breakdown of the charges of what is eligible for Housing Benefits payments. 

Our preferred ongoing method of payment is via Direct Debit and we accept Housing Benefit and Universal Credit. 

If you are accepted and do become a Platform Housing Group tenant, you will be offered a starter tenancy. If there have been no breaches or issues within the first year of your tenancy you will be considered for an assured lifetime tenancy.   

Please be aware Housing Benefit / Universal Credit will only pay for the property you are living in, and you will need to give notice on your current tenancy. . If you are a current private tenant, council tenant or a housing association tenant you will be required to give notice on your current home. This is usually 4 weeks or 1 months’ notice. If you are a current tenant of Platform Housing Group, you will be required to give 4 weeks or 1 months’ notice.  You will only need to give notice if you have been informed that you are being considered/offered a property. If you have any further questions, please contact your landlord.   

If you are successful in being offered this property you will be contacted by the Lettings Officer and you will need to complete an application form. At this stage the Lettings Officer will confirm the rent and service charges.
