Inspirational woman shortlisted in top industry awards

Debbie Allen, a Fire Safety Compliance Manager from Platform Housing Group has been shortlisted in the 2024 Aico/HomeLINK Community Awards in The Woman in Fire Safety category.

 

The awards recognise the achievements of inspirational individuals and organisations working within local community and social housing.

 

The winners will be unveiled at a ceremony on Thursday 18 April at Birmingham’s International Convention Centre.

 

The award entry focused on Debbie creating a fire safety team where none had existed before as well as putting effective systems in place to manage more than 1500 fire risk assessments; dealing with more than 41,000 fire risk actions as well as more than 31,500 compliance inspections.  From April 2024, Debbie and her team will be undertaking more than 28,000 fire door inspections.

In addition to her role at Platform, Debbie is a passionate advocate for fire safety awareness and education, focusing on empowering women in the field.  She actively participates in community outreach programmes, workshops and seminars, where she shares her knowledge and experience in fire safety, inspiring and mentoring women to pursue careers in the sector.
